It’s time to take a trip around the world and look at most exotic food globally, some delicious and some scary.

1- Chicken’s Feet

This dish is popular in east Asia, Caribbean, South America and South Africa. The edible tissue on the feet consists of skin and tendons, with no muscle. It has a little edibles on each feet.

2- Shark Fin Soup

It is a common exotic dish in China. It is usually served during special events such as wedding and happy events. It is an expensive delicacy.

3- Dancing Shrimps

It is one of popular exotic dish in Thailand. Local restaurants or vendors add live small freshwater shrimps to a mixing bowl. Shrimps jumps in the bowl since they are alive. You eat it as it is. No cooking time!

4- Balut

This food is originated from Philippines and some Southeast Asian countries. It is a fertilized developing egg embryo that is boiled and eaten from the shell.

5- Guinea Pig 

Guinea pig knows as Cuy, one of Peru’s most famous dishes. It tastes a little bit like duck; almost a grey meat, but very rich and very oily.

6- Kangaroo

It is a popular exotic Australian dish. kangaroo is high in protein and low in fat. It’s gamey texture. Usually serves as delicacy

7- Frog Legs and Escargot

Frog legs are one of the better-known delicacies of French and Chinese cuisine. It taste mainly like chicken.
Escargots are often served as an hors d’oeuvre and consumed by the French people.

8- Steak Tartare

Steak tartare is a meat dish made from raw ground beef or horsemeat, originated from France. It is often served with a raw egg yolk on top of the dish.

9- Mopane Worms 

Combination of worms fried with tomatoes, onions and garlic, popular in Africa and east Asia. This dish is cheap source of nutrition.

10 – Wasp Crackers

Popular exotic crackers originated from Japan. It is usually sold in local markets.

11- Century Egg

They are a Chinese preserved food product and delicacy made by preserving eggs for several months. The gelatin doesn’t taste much like anything. It smells like ammonia.

12- Khash

It is a traditional dish in Afghanistan, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, and those regions. It is made of head, feet, stomach, tongue, and hooves

13- Haggis

Haggis is a savoury pudding containing sheep’s pluck, popular in Scotland. Main ingredients are sheep’s heart, liver and lungs, and stomach (or sausage casing); onion, oatmeal, suet, spices

14- Escamoles

Escamoles, also known as caviar of the desert, is an exotic Mexican dish consisting of ant larvae and spices. It has pine nuts or corn kernels, has a nutty, buttery taste and a cottage cheese–like mouthfeel. Escamoles are the larvae of an ants.
